Suggested Itinerary

6 days: Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and extension to other destinations

Day 1: Arrive in Cusco. Afternoon City Tour

Today you will arrive in Cusco. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Later this afternoon you will have a city tour in which you will visit several iconic destinations including Saqsayhuaman – an old stone fortress perched above the city, Qoricancha – the Sun Temple, and the historical Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Pisaq & Ollantaytambo.(B)

Today you will embark on an adventure through the Sacred Valley. A variety of experiences and encounters await you. We will start with a visit to the local market of Pisaq. Then you will have the option to hike or be transported to the top of the Pisaq archeological site. Here you will have a stunning view into the Urubamba Valley. We will continue our journey through the valley. We will stop for lunch in the pueblo of Yucay and continue onward to Ollantaytambo; where we will explore the historic village and watch the sunset from within the ruins.

Day 3: Morning at leisure. Explore at Your Own Pace. Evening train to Machu Picchu.(B,L)

This morning and afternoon you will have leisure time to relax and explore. Ask our travel consultants for suggestions of what to do with your leisure time. There are an array of recommendations. This evening you will take a train to Machu Picchu. You will be met at the station and escorted to your hotel.

Day 4: Full Day - Machu Picchu. Return to Cusco. (B)

Today we recommend an early start. For and unforgettable experience watch the sunrise in Machu Picchu. Later this morning you will have a guided tour. Then you will have ample free time to explore and relax. You may choose to venture onto the Inca trail and walk to Inti Punku - the Sun Gate - or climb Huayna Picchu both with different perspectives of the marvelous Machu Picchu. You may also desire some quiet time relaxing in meditation. This evening you will take a train back to Cusco.

Day 5: Free day in Cusco.(B)

Cusco is a wonderful city full of charm. We encourage all travelers to have a free day here! Ask our travel consultants to give you some suggestions of what to do. Recommendations range from visiting local museums to off the beaten path photo tours.

Day 6: Depart Cusco. Next Destination. (B)

Today you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport or bus station in order to continue your journey to your next destination.
